  • The initiative has prevented more than 500 kg of CO₂ emissions through textile recovery and recycling.
  • Ten operational centres took part in this latest edition, reinforcing internal engagement with Logista’s sustainability strategy.

Logista, one of Europe’s leading logistics operators, is further strengthening its commitment to sustainability and responsible textile waste management with the latest edition of its corporate uniform recycling programme. The long‑running initiative recovered 1,359 kg of textile material in its most recent campaign, underlining the company’s contribution to circular economy practices.

This year’s effort brought together ten operational centres — including Palma de Mallorca, Ibiza, Mahón, Logroño, Andújar, Seville, Valencia, Leganés, Barcelona and Madrid — demonstrating strong employee engagement in embedding sustainability into everyday operations.

Tangible environmental impact

Of the total uniforms collected, 75% were processed through mechanical recycling, preventing them from ending up in landfill and avoiding more than 500 kg of CO₂ emissions.

The recycled material generated could also yield a potential future saving of 22,584.28 kg of CO₂ — equivalent to the amount absorbed by 1,075 trees in a year — illustrating how circular solutions can translate into measurable environmental benefits and help reduce the company’s carbon footprint.

Driving circularity: turning waste into resources

By transforming discarded uniforms into new raw materials, the project breaks away from the traditional “take‑make‑dispose” model. In partnership with a specialised textile recycling company, Logista applies mechanical recycling technologies that shred, sort and convert uniforms into materials suitable for industrial use. These can then be fed back into production cycles, reducing reliance on virgin resources.

Embedded in Logista’s ESG roadmap

Uniform recycling is one of several initiatives within Logista’s broader sustainability strategy, which prioritises waste reduction, material circularity and the integration of sustainable practices across the value chain. The participation of multiple centres across Spain provides a holistic view of the initiative and reinforces internal alignment with the company’s environmental objectives.

Isabel Troya, Chair of Logista’s Sustainability Committee, said: “This project reflects our ongoing commitment to advancing a more circular and responsible model. Recycling each uniform helps us reduce waste, maximise material reuse and minimise our environmental impact through innovative and efficient solutions.”
