- Through its subsidiary Logista Pharma and by means of an agreement with Integra CEE, it has hired staff with disabilities to provide the handling service it offers to pharmaceutical laboratories
Logista Pharma, the Logista company specialising in pharmaceutical distribution to hospitals and pharmacies in Spain, Portugal and Italy, has reached an agreement with Integra CEE to hire workers with disabilities, who will provide handling services at the company’s facilities in Fuenlabrada.
A Special Employment Centre (CEE, for its acronym in Spanish) is a company whose main purpose is to generate and promote employment opportunities for people with disabilities who, with the necessary support and adjustments, can perform high-quality work that is fairly remunerated and appropriate to their personal characteristics, facilitating their integration into the ordinary labour market. In a special employment centre, at least 70% of the staff must consist of people with a recognised degree of disability equal to or greater than 33% and receive comprehensive and personalised support from the technical team of professionals of the Professional Activity Support Unit.
Within the wide range of services that Logista Pharma offers laboratories is the Handling Service. This service, which had been provided from various of the company’s plants, has been centralised in its facilities in Fuenlabrada and, after the signing of the agreement, the handling work has been carried out by Integra CEE staff.
The centre started centralised activity on 2 October with one shift. Currently, due to the growing demand for the service, it has been extended to two shifts.
Luis Cruz Mateos, the General Manager of Integra CEE, expressed his gratitude for the welcome received, as well as the sensitivity shown by the Logista Pharma team towards the Integra CEE professionals assigned to perform the handling work.
Miguel Gómez Prado, the General Manager of Logista Pharma, highlighted the involvement of Integra CEE staff, their ability to integrate into the Logista Pharma team and the good harmony and connection between the teams. He also emphasised Logista’s commitment to diversity, equal opportunities and non-discrimination in all its forms.
